PAK 36

PAK-36 37mm Anti-Tank Gun

Our unit has 2 PAK-36 replicas and one original currently undergoing restoration. The 2 replicas are based on the nearly identical Russian 45mm Anti-Tank gun. One is fully converted with correct German wheels, while the other one is awaiting sourcing for a set. They fire 10-gauge shotgun blanks, and provide the 9th SS with mobile firepower and area-denial weapons. While typically considered an early-war weapon, PAK 36’s were used as late as the Battle of the Bulge and in 1945 on the Western Front by SS units. Weighing nearly 1,000 pounds, and nearly 12 feet long, they are usually crewed by 2 unit members.

This tank killer provides the unit with some anti-armor and anti-personnel capability.  It is small enough and light enough to be man handled about by a few Soldaten.  Also, its size allows it to be placed in a variety of ambush locations.  It fires a 10 Gauge shotgun blank, and makes a nice boom!
